Flathead design with tapered wedge blade β Serves as a starter wedge, captures progress while forcing doors, and allows efficient chopping, battering, or prying.

Extended poll for balance β The extended poll offsets the head weight so the center of gravity rests in the eye/handle, improving control and reducing fatigue. Balanced to lay flat in an open hand, preventing blade drop or flutter on sideways swings.

Tempered to exceed ANSI standards β Bit hardness is Rc 48β55 for 1-1/4β³ back from the cutting edge, exceeding the Rc 45β60 ANSI minimum. Poll and eye walls remain in as-forged condition for shock resistance.

36β³ curved American hickory handle β Dried below 10% moisture content to reduce shrinkage and prevent loosening. The handle is hydraulically seated and secured with traditional wooden and steel wedges. The interior taper of the eye ensures a strong mechanical bond.
